Where experience meets engineering

Technical insight shaped by a different professional past.

My former work in cyber-related investigations now supports software architecture, educational material and computing advice rather than investigations for clients.

Three linked stages representing changes in professional practice
A change of professional focus

An unusual technical background

Past investigative work, present-day software practice.

I previously worked as a private investigator specialising in computer-related matters, at a time when online research and cybercrime techniques were emerging as distinct fields. That experience introduced me to the difficulties of interpreting digital records, checking provenance and explaining technical processes.

The Cyberdétective trademark was filed in 2016. The activity presented through this website was established in 2019 and has evolved towards technical consulting, software creation and professional learning.

Today I help individuals and organisations work with technology. I do not accept assignments to investigate named persons on behalf of clients.

Lessons applied to engineering

How a background becomes a design advantage

Working with unreliable or incomplete information encourages software that shows its sources, limits and checkpoints.

Trace information origin

Record where a statement was encountered before drawing conclusions from it.

Present auditable steps

Help users recognise inputs, processing stages and generated outputs.

Explain uncertainty

Prevent a technical-looking interface from conveying confidence the evidence does not support.

What is offered now

A computer consultant with specialist subject knowledge

Software, training and general digital assistance form the current offering. Work requiring regulated private-investigation authorisation falls outside it.

01

Technical implementation

Programs, web services, integrations, documentation and reproducible task sequences.

02

Accessible learning

Open-source research methodology, cybercrime awareness and guidance for using software effectively.

03

Broader computing advice

Web projects, search optimisation, AI exploration and assistance with everyday information systems.

Historical clarity

An international media history

Earlier stages of the Cyberdétective journey were mentioned in publications beyond France. The media page will contain only entries for which an attributable source has been confirmed.

Source-based references

Publications are intended to be indexed with their original title, publisher, date and verifiable link.

Current professional identity

Historical coverage of investigation work should not be read as an offer of that regulated activity today.
